General Laborer  (Weatherization) 

Key Responsibilities:

• Install weatherization program measures such as window and door weather stripping, door sweeps, window, and door caulking, rim joist insulation, pipe insulation, door replacement, spray foam insulation, blower door guided air sealing, thermostat

• Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and CSC safety procedures as directed by the supervisor.

• Perform blower door and combustion efficiency testing.

• Handle job site clean-up.

• Install or repair windows and/or doors.

• Make minor structural repairs and carpentry work as required.

• Perform other installations or repairs as called for by the supervisor.

• Use hand tools or power tools in a prescribed, safe manner when installing materials and repairing structures

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with hand and power tools and a desire to learn weatherization techniques

• The position requires working in the dark, uncomfortable, and confined environments

• Must be able to maneuver through and work in constricted spaces.

• Requires basic knowledge of the construction of residential dwellings and housing types

• Good communication skills (verbal and written)

• Ability to count and tabulate accurately

• Ability to work patiently and courteously with customers

• Knowledge of Safe work practices

• The employee is required to move; bend, squat, twist, position above and below shoulder level, and ascend up and down.

Education and Experience:

• 6 months to 1 year of Construction, Maintenance, Manual Labor, or equivalent educational training experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• BPI certification, Weatherization Installer certification, and OSHA certification preferred
