Job Description: The Carpenter position, under direction, is capable of performing rough, finished, and general carpentry work; performs related work. This individual builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Installs, repairs, and replaces flooring, partitions, window frames and sashes, door frames and doors, and other components of buildings and structures.

Installs, repairs, and replaces boardwalks, fences, and screens.

Builds and repairs tool boxes, movable and fixed sash, doors, and equipment.

Builds and repairs decks and railings.

Is familiar with, uses, and operates both hand and powered woodworking equipment.

Builds and repairs buildings and outdoor structures

Works from plans and sketches.

Keeps job and other records.

May supervise assigned personnel.
Requirements:

Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers

Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety

Must be able to be in a stationary position at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
-
Must be able to move up to 15 pounds at a time
Education:
-
High school diploma
-
4 years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry preferred
-
Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and other specifications

Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as the ability to complete a company-specific safety orientation
